New Europe, Florida flights for Miami International Airport

03/04/2011

New flights to Europe and Florida are coming to Miami International Airport this month.

KLM Airlines is starting four weekly nonstop flights from Amsterdam on March 21.

A few days later, on March 26, Delta Air Lines will start flights to four new destinations. Delta is adding four daily flights from Jacksonville and five from both Orlando and Tampa. The carrier is also adding one daily flight from London-Heathrow.

On March 29, Iberia Airlines starts nonstop service three times a week from Barcelona.

Iberia is also one of three airlines that recently opened an updated lounge at the airport’s Concourse E with American Airlines and British Airways. All three have signed a joint business agreement that allows them to coordinate schedules and fares between North America and Europe.

The airlines’ first joint premium lounge opened in February with seating for 120 people, work stations, TV lounges, a children’s room and showers. The 6,000-square-foot lounge, formerly an American Airlines Admirals Club, also has free food and drinks. It is located beyond the security checkpoint on the fifth floor of Concourse E and open to oneworld eligible international first class, business class and Emerald and Sapphire customers; customers traveling on certain AA-operated transcontinental first class or business class tickets and Admirals Club members leaving from Concourse E.
