This paradox is due to Ryanair's policy of finding cheaper airports which are some distance from a city and then renaming it with a prefix, including that city's name. Ryanair uses Bergamo as its regional hub, and DHL has a major cargo presence.

By Road: The A4 Toll Road goes to Milan.
Rail: Bergamo Railway Station is three and a half miles away, there is no shuttle service. However, there are regular buses from the airport to the railway station (journey time 10 minutes).

Linate is situated eight kilometers East of central Milan.It is the closest airport to Milan, being within its boundaries.

Getting There
Connections to Malpensa are various (for example for airport transfers) having good roads and shuttle bus services. Buses from/to the Milan Central Bus Station (tickets cost €2.50). A taxi to Milan city center should cost around €15.
Airport facilities
Banks and Bureau de Change are plentiful.Medical services and a pharmacy are on the ground floor. There is duty-free and non-duty free shopping for everything from clothes and electronics to news vendors and books. Free Broadband Wi-Fi is available 24 hours a day.
Parking
There is parking for 4,500 vehicles.Zones P1 and P2 are the closest to the terminal. There is free parking for the disabled, short stay parking is located near departures and arrivals (priced at €0.90 for every quarter of an hour up to a maximum of €26 per day).

Orio Al Serio International Airport is 2km South-East of Bergamo and 45k outside Milan (to the North-East). Confusingly it is also known as Il Caravaggio International Airport (after the artist), and even more confusingly, if you are a Ryan air passenger you will find it called Milan-Bergamo.

GETTING THERE
