Republic of Lithuania ratified the Hague Convention on Child Protection and Cooperation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption. The Civil Code and the Code for Civil procedure of Republic of Lithuania govern the adoption process.

Cathedral-Basilica of St. Stanislaus and St. Ladislaus is the biggest and most important catholic cathedral in Lithuania. Built in 1251 the cathedral is one of the oldest buildings in the city.
