The Many Sights Of Thailand
With its capital city of Bangkok, Thailand is a diverse population. It has 64 million inhabitants, 94% of whom practice Buddhism. It has very distinct geography and numerous cultural sites that never cease to amaze.
To give back to the community while maybe checking off a bucket list item, volunteer at the Elephant Nature Park where you can volunteer your time to rehabilitate, wash and feed local elephants that are being nurtured before being released back into the wild.
If animals aren't your strong suit and you would rather relish in the country's history; visit the Grand Palace that's located in the heart of Bangkok. It has been home to all of the Kings of Siam. Tours run all day and it offers a glimpse at not only the history of the country but also of their people.
To be truly inspired, visit Wat Chaiwatthanaram. One of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites, Wat Chaiwatthanaram is a main spire sorrounded by 4 smaller ones. Its delicate engravings that encompass the towers tell of the extensive labor and master craftsman that put their life's work into building this site. You can reach this Wat by boat or by road.
No matter what your itinerary, Thailand is sure to impress and is also one of the cheapest countries in the world to visit.
