Macchu Picchu
Nestled within the tropical mountainous rain forest of the Andes, Macchu Picchu is a man made village on the top of the crater of the valley. Its picturesque views and almost impossible Incan architecture offers a once in a lifetime view. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Macchu Picchu is a must-see destination.
It attracts over a million visitors every year and is home to hundreds of llamas that are very friendly. The mountains all around this site are a sight all their own but the handmade stones that fit perfectly together creating a man-made wall of grey is a fantastic juxtaposition from the evergreen jungle-covered mountains behind it.
There are a couple of ways to get up to Macchu PIcchu. You can climb the whole way up which takes about a week and you will camp as you go. You can take the train half way up and climb the rest of the way or you can take the train almost to the very top. Fares to get in range from $30-$600 depending on how you get up the mountain.
