With its capital city of Cairo, Egypt is home to the largest Arabic population in the world. Since its average yearly rainfall is an astounding inch, the main terrain is desert. The sights and destinations within Egypt are what makes this country so famous.

In Aswan, the Abu Simbel Temples are twin structures that are daunting in size. Thought to be situated on an axis, the inside of the temples are illuminated on February and October 22nd of every year. This is one of Egypt's most popular destinations, so be sure to arrive as early in the morning as possible not only to beat the heat but to beat the crowds.

Mount Sinai or Mount Moses is thought to be where Moses received the Ten Commandments from God according to the Bible. This religious site is a main tourist spot for Christians and spirituals alike. Although it's a beautiful peak, its meaning is much more alluring than the mountain iteself.

The Great Sphinx of Giza rising above the desert floor is the largest monolith statue in the world. Built in around 2500 BC and made completely of limestone, it lays and guards the Great Pyramids of Giza. The Pyramids are the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the World. Made of over 2 million blocks each, these are a feat of construction.
