Baggage information

Carry on luggage
Business Class - free baggage allowance of 40 kg + 2 pieces of carry-on baggage up to 7 kg/15 lbs each and measuring no more than 18''x 14"x 6" (46 x 36 x 20 cm).
Economy Class - free baggage allowance of 30 kg + 1 piece of carry-on baggage up to 7 kg/15 lbs and no more than 18"x14"x6" .

The two-piece luggage concept is not applicable to SriLankan Airlines passengers. However, if you are flying onwards to America or Canada on another carrier from Europe, the Middle East or South East Asia you will be given the benefit of the two-piece concept provided you are through ticketed. The weight-age given by the relevant airlines on the Piece Luggage Concept differ in terms of both pieces of luggage not exceeding a combined weight of 46 kgs or 64 kgs, therefore it will have to be clarified with the airline in question itself.
Free Carry-on Items
In addition to your hand luggage, the following items will be accepted as free carry-on items:
• One lady's handbag, purse or pocket book
• One overcoat, wrap or blanket
• One umbrella or walking stick
• One small camera or one pair of binoculars
• Infant's food for in-flight consumption together with infant's toiletries and disposable items such as nappies
• One infant's carrying basket or fully collapsible stroller

Checked luggage
The weight of checked baggage is subject to our conditions & limitations and you will be required to pay a charge for carriage of baggage in excess of the Free Baggage Allowance. However, the maximum weight per piece of luggage should not exceed 32 kgs.
Checked Baggage must have your name or other personal identification affixed to it.

Children information

Travelling with a baby or toddler?
Diapers, medicines, baby food and bassinets are all available on board. Special diaper changing boards are also located in selected toilets - making that messy job a lot easier.

Infant / Baby Meal
A standard quantity of processed baby food is available on all SriLankan long-haul services on request. Special baby meals should preferably be requested at the time of booking. Specific brands of milk powder and other infant food requirements must be carried onboard by the parent as necessary.

There are three key age ranges for which SriLankan cater:
1 to 6 years
7 to 12 years
13 plus

Pets

Pets
- You must ensure that animals such as dogs, cats, household birds and other pets, are properly crated and accompanied by valid health and vaccination certificates, entry permits, and other documents required by countries of entry or transit, failing which, they will not be accepted for carriage.
- If accepted as Baggage, the pet, together with its container and food, shall not be included in your free Baggage allowance, but shall constitute excess baggage, for which you will be obliged to pay the applicable rate.
- Guide dogs accompanying Passengers with disabilities will be carried free of charge in addition to the normal free baggage allowance, subject to conditions specified by us, which are available on request.
- Srilankan airlines are not responsible for injury to or loss, sickness or death of an animal which they have agreed to carry unless they have been negligent.
