Baggage information
Hand baggage
If you are flying with Brussels Airlines, you should take your hand baggage in the cabin with you. Hand baggage must meet the following requirements: it must not be bigger than 55 x 40 x 23 cm. The only exception is made for foldable garment bags, the size of which must not be larger than 57 x 54 x 15 cm.
If you are flying with Brussels Airlines between Europe and Canada/USA, the following rules apply:
-Economy class: 1 piece 12 kg, plus 1 small accessory
-Business class: 2 pieces total weight 16kg max + 1 small accessory

Checked baggage
Your ticket will read all the important information about the weight and quantity of your baggage allowance. The latter will depend on the booking class and your itinerary. The baggage maximum per passanger is 5 pieces of baggage, each piece not exceeding 32 kg in weight and 158 cm in size (depth + height + width). What if I'm flying with a partner airline?
If you are flying with a partner airline, different baggage policy may apply. Please, make sure that you get more information about that found on your electronic ticket.
Here is an exception for flights to, from and across Canada and the USA. The following baggage allowance applies under the consumer protectionlaw by the US Department of Transportation and the Decision issued by the Canadian Transport Authority (CTA):
-Throughout the journey, hand baggage regulations, excess baggage charges and same free baggage allowance are to be applied
-Usually, the airline which is mentioned firt on your ticket is the one whose baggage allowance rules apply.
-The baggage rules can be transferred to any other airline by any airline that is listed first on your ticket.
Children information
Children under 2 years of age may travel on parents' lap and are not required to have their own seat. Mind you that only 1 baby per adult is allowed. Fees and taxes may apply depending on the destination. Usually, a parent of an infant is charged 10% of the regular fare for their child.
For children who are above 2 years of age, a separate seat will have to be booked. The same rule applies if your child is expected to turn 2 years of age while traveling. Depending on the class you choose, you will be charged reduced rates for children between 2 and 11 years of age. Please note that children above 12 years of age will be charged an adult rate.
Reduction in the price for children between 2 and 11 years of age is as follows:
International flights
Economy class - 25%-33% of the regular fare
Business class - 25%-33% of the regular fare
European flights
Check&Go and b.light economy - no reduction is available
Light&Relax - 20% of the regular fare
Flex&Fast and b.flex economy+ - 20% of the regular fare
Bizz&Class and b.business - 20% of the regular fare
Please note that he aforementioned rulses apply only to Brussels Airlines-operated flights. Partner airlines may have their own policy. Be sure to check the website of the codeshare partner ailrine you are flying with for more information on this issue.
What if I'm flying from the UK?
If you are flying from the UK, you need to know that when traveling in economy class, children who are between 2 and 11 years of age, are not to be charged the UK Air Passenger Duty as of 1 May 2015. As of 1 March 2016, when traveling in economy class, persons who are between 12 and 15 years of age are not to be charged the UK Air Passenger Duty either.
