* 1 small camera or set of binoculars
* Children up to 2 years of age: 1 baby carrier, child car seat or fully collapsible stroller (folded approximately the size of an umbrella)

Passengers on flights to/from the USA may only carry one piece of hand baggage each.

Important articles in your baggage:

We recommend not to include articles like money, jewellery, computers (e.g. laptops, PCs), cameras, negotiable papers, securities, business documents, samples, passports and other identification documents in your checked baggage.
Please carry these kinds of articles in your hand luggage.

Please mark each piece of baggage clearly with your name and adress.

A single item may not be heavier than 32 kg or exceed total dimensions of 158cm (length + width + height), otherwise it cannot be transported as checked baggage. Any larger or heavier items must be shipped as cargo.

If you are travelling with excess baggage, please notify us in advance on tel. +43 (0)5 1766 1000 so we can reserve sufficient space for it.

Hand baggage

A single item of hand baggage may not be larger than 55x40x23 cm or weigh more than 8 kg. You can check this using the hand baggage gauge at the airport. Any items that exceed these limits will have to be checked in.

How much hand baggage you may carry on board?

Economy Class passengers: 1 item weighing up to 8 kg
Business Class passengers: 2 items
- the first weighing up to 8 kg,
- the second up to 4 kg (the latter may also be a suit bag with max. dimensions of
57x54x15cm).

Important: Depending on the operating aircraft type and/or fulfilling safety requirements of national authorities, in exceptional cases the hand baggage allowance for our Business class passengers may be reduced to 1 piece of hand baggage only.

Hand luggage restrictions

Liquids: Liquids may only be carried on board in a resealable clear plastic bag.
Make sure you observe the following rules, otherwise your liquids may be confiscated at the security checkpoint:
- Liquids, gels and sprays must be held in individual containers not exceeding 100 ml (max. filling quantity as printed on container, not actual contents).
- The individual containers must be placed in a resealable (e.g. "zip-top") clear plastic bag with max. one liter capacity.
- Only one plastic bag is permitted per passenger.
- Please present the plastic bag for separate screening at the security checkpoint.

You may also carry the following additional items:
- baby food
- special dietary food
- medicine

Children information

Travelling with small children

If you travel with one or more small children they must be accompanied by one adult. Children between 3 months and 5 years can also be accompanied by Austrian staff (surcharged service).

Booking - Special Services:
You may pre-book the following special services when you make your flight reservation (please book at least 24 hours before departure):
- pre-reservation of seats so family members can sit together
- baby cradle/bassinet (for infants up to 6-9 months and max. 11 kg) on long-haul routes
- special baby and child meals (in Economy Class on flights of 3 hours and above).

It is not possible to book a flight for children travelling alone online. Please contact Austrian Customer Service Center at +43 (0) 5 1766 1000.

Check-in
You may take your baby stroller up to 10kg to the aircraft where it will be loaded by our loading staff. Strollers weighing more than 10kg must be checked in.

On board
Children and their accompanying adults board the aircraft first, before all other passengers. And while in the air we make the time fly by with toys, games and puzzles for youngsters plus a special children's entertainment programme on our long-haul flights.

Pets

Small dogs and cats in the passenger cabin

One small cat or dog may be carried with you in the passenger cabin, provided it is placed in a secure, leak-proof transport container. The combined weight of the animal and container must not exceed 8 kilos, with max. dimensions of 55x40x23 cm for easy stowage under the seat. Please bring your own transport container!

Larger animals in the cargo hold

Animals that cannot be transported in the passenger cabin will be carried in our air-conditioned, heated cargo hold. Please provide your own appropriately sized, approved transport container and notify us in advance of dimensions and weight so we can make sure enough space is available!

Transport charges

The charges for transportation of animals are the same as those for Excess baggage.
In addition to the transport charge for the animal a Ticket Service Charge will be levied.

All flights (except flights to/from the USA and Canada)

Transport charges depend on the weight of the animal, the container size and the respective flight routing. The charges are applicable for transportation in the passenger cabin as well as in the cargo hold.

Please let us know at the time of booking that you wish to travel with your pet. We'll check that the transport arrangements meet our conditions of carriage and get back to you as soon as possible.
