Children information
Traveling with Children
For international travel, all infants/babies, children, and minors must have a valid passport and comply with immigration requirements of the destination country. In some countries, infants/babies may need a reference on a parent’s passport. Check with Air Tahiti Nui, your travel arranger, or the consulate of the countries visited.
Infants / Babies:
- The fare for infants/babies up to two years old is 10 percent of the applicable available fare at the time of booking. This does not guarantee that the infant/baby will have their own seat to sit in.
- Bassinets may be available upon request; however, they may not be suitable for larger infants/babies. (Not available for infants aged 8 months or older, or weighing 10kgs or more.)
Accompanied Minors:
- Children aged between 2 and 11 qualify for a child fare
- If accompanied by a third party or non-family member to a foreign country, children under the age of 15, may also need a certificate allowing them to leave the country.
- Even if accompanied by a guardian or third party, children must have a valid passport, or reference on a parent's passport, depending on the destination.
- Always check with the consulate of the country you are traveling to confirm details before traveling.
Unaccompanied Minors:
- From 5 - 14 years old, children can travel alone on Air Tahiti Nui international flights. Please notify our reservation agents.
- The Local Air Tahiti Nui office will send the parent or guardian a special unaccompanied minor ticket jacket. This ticket jacket contains carbonized forms that must be completed and presented at Check-in.
- Their guardian fills in a " itinerary sheet", which is also signed by the person expressly designated to meet them on arrival. This person must provide identification and sign the "itinerary sheet."
Before Leaving:
Besides their passports, prepare a bag with everything your children may need during the flight (pullover, medicine, books, etc...)
Minimum check-in time on our flights is 3 hours 30 minutes for children traveling alone. Before leaving the airport, you are required to wait until an Air Tahiti Nui agent confirms the flight departure.
