Baggage information

Baggage allowance

Club business for long distance - 3 pieces up to 23kg each, except to/from Brazil 3 pieces up to 32kg each
Full economy for long distance - 2 pieces up to 23kg each, except to/from Brazil 2 pieces up to 32kg each /4/
Rest of fares in economy class -  1 piece up to 23kg, except to/from Brazil 2 pieces up to 23kg each

Club business for  short and medium haul - 1 piece up to 23kg, except to/from Senegal, Equatorial Guinea 2 pieces up to 23kg each
Economy for  short and medium haul - 2 pieces up to 23kg, except to/from Senegal, Equatorial Guinea 3 pieces up to 23kg each

Air Europa´s new baggage policy will come into effect on April 1st 2010, the following baggage allowances are established. The following tables shows permitted hand baggage (cabin baggage) as well as the charges for extra suitcases and excess baggage rates if the weight of each suitcase exceeds the permitted weight.


Hand baggage

Club business for long distance - 2 pieces 18kg total
Full economy for long distance - 1 pieces 10kg
Rest of fares in economy class -  1 piece up to 10kg

Club business for  short and medium haul - 1 piece up to 10kg
Economy for  short and medium haul - 1 piece up to 14kg

Each passenger is allowed to carry one piece of luggage not weighting more than 10 kilos in economy class and 14 kilos in business class. The maximum size of the luggage piece is 55 x 35 x 25 cm. Passengers are also allowed to carry the following items free of charge:

a).- A handbag, wallet or purse adequate to the normal cloths worn for the trip, as long as they are not used as a container for the transport of articles that would receive the consideration of luggage if carried somewhere else.

b).- A reasonable quantity of reading items for the flight.

c).- An overcoat, coat or travel rug.

d).- An umbrella and/or a walking stick.

e).- A small photographic camera and/or a pair of binoculars.

f).- A basket/crib for the transportation of babies.

g).- Children’s food for consumption during the flight.

h).- A folding wheelchair and/or a pair of crutches or any other prosthetic items as long as they are strictly necessary for the passenger.

All these articles shall be transported free as a separate service from the normal luggage allowance as long as passengers carry them with them in the guest cabin during the flight, exception made for wheelchairs belonging to wheelchair-bound passengers and baby carriages and strollers. These must be checked in beforehand and shall be transported in the cargo compartment of the aircraft, though passengers can arrange for the use of their wheelchairs and baby carriages until boarding the aircraft, when they shall give them to the Air Europa Coordinator to be taken into the cargo compartment of the aircraft.

Excess baggage fares

Club business for long distance - 4th piece and successive 23kg. In advance: 100 euro/piece  Day of departure: 150 euro/piece 
Full economy for long distance - 3th piece and successive 23kg. In advance: 100 euro/piece  Day of departure: 150 euro/piece 
Rest of fares in economy class -  2nd piece 23kg. In advance: 50 euro/piece  Day of departure: 60 euro/piece. 3rd piece and successive 23kg each.   In advance: 100 euro/piece  Day of departure: 150 euro/piece 

For  short and medium haul in Club business and Economy class - in advance: 50 euro per piece of 23kg
Day of departure: 60 euro per piece of 23kg. Except to/from Africa during high season no excess baggage will be permitted

If you are on connecting flights with different airlines, please check their baggage allowances as they may differ from Air Europa’s. Depending on the agreements between companies, in some cases it will not be possible to check in the baggage until the final destination.

Children information

Infants (children under the age of 2 on the date of the flight) are not entitled to a seat. However, they are entitled to the same free baggage allowance as adult passengers.

- Moreover, one of the following articles is also permitted:
- A collapsible pushchair, or
- An infant-carrying basket, or
- A baby car seat.

These articles may be carried in the cabin if they can be stored in the overhead luggage compartment or under the seat in front. If not, the article must be checked in.

Children  between 2 and 12 years of age.
They have the right to a seat and a luggage exemption.
There is no limit to the number of children on board.
They cannot travel on emergency exit seats.


Unaccompanied minors (UM)

Air Europa offers two companion services for underage passengers
. The UM, mandatory for passengers from 5 to 12 of age.
- The YOUNG PEOPLE for passengers from 12 to 18 years of age.

The UM service for kids under 12 year of age has a cost of 20€ per direction on direct flights and 30€ per direction on direct flights Europe/Orient/Africa/America, 60€ if the flight involves an onward transfer.

The YOUNG PEOPLE service is an optional service tha will be offered only when requested by the passenger or his relatives. This service will need to be paid, and the fees are the same of the “UM “ service.

Air Europa does not allow unacompanied minors if they are not at least 5 year of age. Unaccompanied minors are also not accepted on flights with one or more stopovers, where the duration of the stopover or stopovers exceeds 3 hours.

Pets

Live animals are not included in baggage allowance.
The following charges will be applied for each live animal checked-in:

Animals in the cabin
Domestic Flights - 25 euro
Medium Haulf flights Europe and Africa - 50 euro
Long Haulf flights - 100 euro


Animals in aircraft hold
Domestic Flights - 40 euro
Medium Haulf flights Europe and Africa - 80 euro
Long Haulf flights - 160 euro
