Baggage information

Carry-On Allowance: 1 piece
All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. In addition to a personal item (overcoat, laptop, purse) passengers are allowed one carry-on bag whose dimensions (length + height + width) does not exceed 115 cm/45 ins and which does not weigh more than 7 kg/15 lbs.

Free baggage allowance
The baggage allowance depends on airport and destination.
For travel to and from the US and Canada and certain countries in South and Central America, the baggage allowance is per piece:
Super Business Class / Business Class / Premium Laurel Class:
Maximum of 2 pieces of baggage.
Maximum dimensions of each piece may not exceed 158 cm/62 in
Maximum weight of each piece may not exceed 32kg/70 lb
Under the piece system, a passenger traveling in Super Business Class or Business Class or Premium Laurel Class is entitled to carriage of one extra piece limited to 23kg/50lb without charge while traveling on EVA-operated sectors. However, if you are connecting to/from another carrier, EVA cannot guarantee this privilege applies.
Evergreen Deluxe / Elite/ Economy Class:
Maximum of 2 pieces of baggage.
Maximum dimensions of each piece may not exceed 158 cm/62 in
The total baggage size, measured separately and added together, cannot exceed 273 cm (107 in.)
Maximum weight of each piece cannot exceed 28 kg/61 lb
Economy Class:
Maximum of 2 pieces of baggage. The total baggage size, measured separately and added together, cannot exceed 273 cm (107 in.)
Maximum dimensions of each piece may not exceed 158 cm/62 in
Maximum weight of each piece cannot exceed 23 kg/50 lb per piece.
Each infant is entitled to one piece with the sum of the three dimensions not to exceed
115cm (45in.) and weight not to exceed 23kg (50lb.).

For regions/countries other than territories in the US/Canada and certain countries in South/Central America, a weight limit applies:
Super Business Class/ Business Class/ Premium Laurel Class: 30 kg/66 lb.
Evergreen Deluxe Class/ Elite Class: 20 kg/44 lb. or 25 kg/55 lb. on an EVA-operated flight.
Economy Class: 20 kg/44 lb.
Each infant is entitled to 10 kg (22 lb.) with the sum of the three dimensions not to exceed 115cm (45in.).

Excess baggage charges
Baggage in excess of EVA Air's free allowance will be subject to additional charges.
- The piece system charge is based on the piece, size and weight exceeding EVA's free baggage allowance. It is much complicated, please contact EVA Air for details.
- The weight system charge is calculated on the basis of each extra kilogram exceeding the free baggage allowance and can vary with the route. Generally, it is based on 1.5% of the highest normal direct adult one-way economy class fare, only with the following exceptions:
1% (except within Europe) from Austria/Bulgaria/Israel, from Australia/New Zealand (Except 1.5% from Australia / New Zealand to South West Pacific), and from Europe/Middle East to Australia/New Zealand.
1.35% within Europe, except 1% from Austria / Bulgaria / Finland.
- Different regulations and charges apply to special baggage, e.g. golf clubs, surfboards, windsurfing equipment etc. You should contact EVA Air for more details.



Children information

Traveling With an Infant or Small Child
- When traveling, infants and small children under 2 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
- Within the first 7 days after birth, a baby is not strong enough for air travel and will not be accepted as a passenger on an EVA flight.
-  When an adult traveling with two infants or small children, one must be able to sit in a seat using an approved car-type infant seat.
- According to CAA regulations, an aircraft shall be equipped with a seat for each person who is over two years of age.
- Infants who reach their second birthday while traveling on an EVA Air flight must occupy their own seat. The applicable child's fare must be paid for all sectors flown after the child reaches two years of age.
- If you would like to order a baby meal and/or diapers, you should contact EVA Air`s reservations office at the time you make your booking.
- Baby bassinets are available aboard all EVA Air aircraft, but for safety reasons, height and weight limitations apply. Please advise us of your baby’s date of birth, height and weight when you make your reservation.



Pets

Pets Policy
Passengers traveling with checked/unchecked pets are required to contact EVA Air before the departure date to confirm the conditions of transportation. If you plan to travel with your pet, you will be responsible for providing valid health and vaccination certificates in addition to other documents that may be required by countries of departure, transit or entry. Airport personnel reserve the right to reject carriage of your pet if arrangements do not comply with EVA's transportation standards, including health and safety of the animal. The accompanied pets, such as dogs, cats and rabbits may be transported on EVA aircraft either as checked baggage in the load compartment.

Restrictions
- EVA has suspended the transportation of live birds.
- Australia: Pets are prohibited to be carried to/ from Australia as unchecked baggage in the cabin or checked baggage in the load compartment. However, properly harnessed seeing-eye/hearing-aid dogs accompanying the vision or hearing impaired passengers can be transported to/from in the passenger cabin.
- United Kingdom: Pets and seeing-eye/hearing-aid dogs are prohibited to be carried to England as unchecked baggage in the cabin or checked baggage in the load compartment. They can only be carried from England as checked baggage in the load compartment.
- Hong Kong: Pets and seeing-eye/hearing-aid dogs are prohibited to be carried to Hong Kong as unchecked baggage in the cabin or checked baggage in the load compartment. They can only be carried from Hong Kong as unchecked baggage in the cabin or checked baggage in the load compartment.
- Pets and seeing-eye/hearing-aid dogs are probhibited to be carried from China as unchecked baggage in cabin or checked baggage in the load compartment.

Pets As Checked Baggage:
Pets can be accepted for carriage by air only if they are being transported in containers that must be:
- Leak, escape and claw-proof.
- Constructed so that there is no risk of your animal escaping, injuring itself or causing damage to other items in the aircraft.
- Designed for air transportation. Ensure that the animal is comfortable without risk of it injuring or causing discomfort to personnel responsible for its safe transit.
- Have functioning ventilation openings on more than one side. Easily recognizable as an animal container.
- Have moisture-absorbing material covering the bottom or floor.
- Kennel or container must be made of rigid plastics material which can provide a strong packing during the carriage.
- Height: Height of the animal in standing position, without touching the roof of the cage.
- Length: from nose to root of the tail, plus half height from ground to elbow-joint.
- Width: Twice that of the animal across the shoulder blades.
- The container must be large enough to allow your animal to stand upright or lie down comfortably.
- A sufficient supply of food and water with appropriate feeding receptacles must be securely attached to the container.
- The compartment in which your pet will be carried will have the same pressure and temperature as the passenger cabin, and lights will be turned on.
-  There is no restriction on weight for pets transported as checked baggage with the exception of structural limitations on some aircraft. For details, please contact EVA Air. No more than two adult animals of comparable size, weighing as much as 14 kg/31 lb. each, can be shipped in the same kennel. For their safety and comfort, animals that weigh more than that must travel individually. A maximum of three animals that are less than six months old and from the same litter can be shipped in the same cage.

Charges:
Your pet(s) and their kennel or container, as either checked or unchecked baggage, will be charged as excess baggage and excluded from your free baggage allowance. Seeing-eye/hearing-aid dogs will be carried free of charge without weight limits when they accompany passengers who depend upon these animals
